This unit has truly been a learning experience to say the least. My perspective on the food industry and just food in general has been renewed. Before I was introduced to the food waste crisis, I would waste food without thought. I would just throw it away if I was too full, or if I was just plain tired of the meal. I wasn't wasting every single day, but I definitely wasted my fair share of food. When I began my research and realized all of the waste in food, money, and resources of our land I had some what of a small epitome that I was the cause of this problem. By wasting food even in the slightest sense, I was partaking in the trend of food waste. Because of this unit I will forever be more conservative and creative when it comes on how to use food whether it be as a meal or for compost in my yard. In another sense, my researching skills also improved. I was happy going into this unit because although I knew it would be very hard for me to skillfully write about research and my position on the topic, I knew that through this experience I would learn and get better as a writer. As I predicted, I did learn a lot about extracting good research from reliable resources and truly understanding topics like mine, food waste. I am not by any means saying that I am now a good writer, but I am saying that this paper has helped me learn a lot of useful skills on research analysis that will definitely be accommodating in the future when I'm in College.  This unit has helped me grow as a writer and as a consumer of foods, and for this I am very grateful.
