My research question centers on the idea of growing meat from animal stem cells. For those of you that have read my last post, you know that a lab experiment conducted about three to four years ago determined the possibility of growing meat from animal cells, as opposed to obtaining meat by slaughtering an animal. Due to the success of the experiment, there is a possibility that grown meat may be the future of the meat industry. This includes many forms of meat such as beef and chicken.
What I want to explore in this topic is the quality of the meat that is grown in the lab. From what I have gathered from my research, people who have taste-tested the meat have said that there is barely any difference between the stem cell meat and the butchered animal meat; at the same time, others have said that the stem cell meat is not as tasty as the "real deal".
Since this is meat that is not coming from a butchered animal, I want to know what your opinion is on cultured meat. Do you think it could be as unhealthy as processed meat? Do you think that this is artificial? Would you try cultured meat if it was on your plate?
