To be frank, my mindset about our country hasn't changed or been shifted much. As bad as this may sound, my opinion of this country wasn't all that great to begin with. Especially after this last presidential election and the amount of hatred and violence going on across the country. For a while now I've been thinking very little of this so-called "great" and "equal" nation of ours. It comes as no surprise to me whatsoever that our government cares more about making money than providing health food to it’s people. It comes as no surprise to me whatsoever that the government lies to us about what is in our food, how it’s grown, and where it’s grown. None of that surprises me, it just sickens me. It’s sickening to think that our government, the people we trust to protect us and represent us, don’t even care about us or care about what is best for us. Just the other day I was talking to my mom about what a mess our government is. I mean it is really messy. It's an embarrassment. And as for my mindset about what I eat? I'd say this experience and research has really made me more of a conscious eater. I think more about the food that's being set in front of me.
Where did it came from?
How were the animals raised?
What type of environment was it grown in?
But then after pondering these questions for a few seconds or a good minute I proceed to eat and don't think about those questions again until the next meal. Who knows maybe four or more years from now I'll be like the girl Ms. Colln told us she went to high school with -- a real pro-animal rights activist or something.
