Check this out. According to recent research (an experiment that was performed about three to four years ago), there is a way of growing meat. This process is done by extracting stem cells from animals and letting the cells multiply in a container shaped like a piece of meat. Eventually, the cells will fill up the entire container, and the end result is a chunk of meat.
This experiment was a success, and it could very well determine the future of the meat industry. Along with meat grown in a lab, this process of producing meat can be beneficial to the environment; it can help preserve it.
Due to the great success of the experiment, the growing of meat should be used soon. Sometime in the future, stores may be selling grown meat.
this is actually very interesting, I've heard of this before but I thought that there is no way of doing this. This is amazing because if we use the animals stem cells instead of the animal we would actually be able to for one kill and harm fewer animals while still eating what we love. Two because we are not using animals our food would run a lower risk of having a certain disease and us getting contaminated.
ReplyDeleteThere's an obvious difference between growing meat in a lab and letting a living cow grow and develop. Does the meat in the lab gather nutrients and protein the same way a normal cow does? Lab meat certainly doesn't have the blood to deliver those things where they need to be. Can scientists make cow blood too?
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, an invention like this could easily come in handy in the event of some sort of disaster or catastrophe. But the whole idea screams artificial, which can never live up to the real deal.
