From this unit, I have learned more about the corruption that controls the food industry and the government alike. I now have a better understanding of the laws placed on industries in general, for example I can see how laws can be placed without actually harming any part of an industry by allowing them to be self-regulated or giving them rules that still don't really restrict any harm they are doing to the people or the environment.
This entire unit has inspired to want to get involved in the government. After reading about so many cases of personal interest getting in the way of lawmakers and leaders, I wish I could have the opportunity to speak for the people and change the perception lawmakers have. Although its the few lawmakers that ruin the relationship with their constituents, I want to make the people have complete faith in the government to always put their needs first.
