Third course

This unit has been very interesting and very informative when it comes to the politics of food. I did really enjoy learning what I did learn in this unit because learning new things and researching can be fun. The thing with food politics is that I never knew how messed up it is and how the food industry can be so corrupt. My mindset has definitely changed about food and how we eat. It amazes me that we are allowed by the government to produce food that is so unhealthy for us, and can really hurt us in the long run. When I did more digging on the internet, I learned even more in depth how terrible the food we eat is. It is just down right disgusting if I am being honest. I have now been trying to eat less of the bad food, and I have really tried to stop eating fast-food so much. I have not cut it out of my diet completely, but I am almost to that point because of learning the now not so hidden truth.

If I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now, I would have made many better eating decisions in my life. I would still eat bad food once in a while, but I would try to not eat it as much as I am trying to do know, because better late than never right? Some might say that it's a waste of time to try and stop eating bad, processed food, but that is why we are in the spot we are in. Someone has to be the change, and in order to change, we have to slow down on the ultra-processed, unhealthy food we eat. I am not changing my life with food completely, but just making some changes for the better. That is what I have learned from this unit, that eating better and making a change is great, and anyone can do it.
