Over the course of human existence, we have constantly moved forward with new technological advancements to help assist us. But it seems as if we have begun to step backwards. As the American health begins to deteriorate and we begin to raise the percentage of obese people, we have to start thinking now about how we can become natural again. This generation today finds it very normal to go to a drive-through, or simply pick up precooked meals at a grocery store, when only about 70 years ago if you were hungry you were gonna cook a meal.
To counter this problem I think the solution should start from the government that allowed this problem to grow in the first place. By having the government implement ways to subsidize on fresh produce and farms we can make good food more accessible to the middle and lower class who struggle the most on this issue. As well as adding food education classes in all schools to help rebuild the next generation to be aware of the issues that have been created because of the food industry. If we can start educating the upcoming adults we can start beginning to change the way our food is thought of.
If the government can begin to force all food manufactures to properly label everything that is put into the food then we can start teaching consumers to be aware of what they purchase.

I completely agree with you that the government should take part in trying to change the way people see food! It is a great idea to start implementing food education to our new generation, that would really help people understand what they are eating. Forcing companies to label their food products correctly could eventually help obsesity rates to go down. However, I believe that even if the food industry labeled everything they sold correctly, people would still ignore the labels and eat the food anyway. Unless the terrible ingredients were put in the front with bold letters, no one would actually read the ting script in the back of the product. It is partially the consumer's responsibility to know what they are eating. If they choose to eat a bag of potato chips, they know that product is not made with healthy ingredients, so it is their decision to switch that item and buy the healthier option.
