Food deserts are more common in the United States than you think. When you think of people being hungry you typically think about them being in other countries.  You never think about the thousands of Americans that are experiencing hunger in the United States and can't do anything about it. This article talks about fennel 101 which I Soul Food and it talks about chefs teaching low-income women how to cook and eat good types of fresh food and such which is very important. There are multiple supporters that we recognize that helped Food desert for example; Michelle Obama is a supporter for helping the campaign on child obesity. This research is helpful for those people that are searching for child obesity or just food desert in general i hope this helps. This idea of food desert was passed on in 2004 when Pennsylvania passed a Fresh food financing initiative. 20 Different states now have some type of fresh food financing and have local and nonprofit programs such as cooking and nutrition classes such as Soul Food. 1. I agree that it is very important that we recognize the number of people who experience hunger in the US. Many people do not realize that there is such significant amount that live in our very own country. It is important in our society to give students the option of entering a program for fresh and more healthy foods. Teaching kids to eat healthy from the start can influence them to eat healthy in the future.
