My research question is "Will decreasing the cost of healthy food increase our chances of becoming a healthier nation?". I also incorporated who is to blame for the mass obesity in America; should we blame ourselves for eating bad, or the government and food companies for advertising mainly the unhealthy stuff. I chose this topic because unfortunately everything does revolve around money whether we like it or not;furthermore, I was wondering if everybody was fortunate enough to have the extra money to buy the healthy organic food, would they actually do so or has unhealthy, fast food taken over? Something I hear often is, "why does the healthy salad cost way more than the burger and fries?". That is because of the quality of the food, which comes back to the money issue. Also, the fast food we eat is sold for cheap since it's made with cheap, unhealthy ingredients. Through my research I hope to find a positive answer to my question or to find a solution to the high price problem and hopefully be able to do something about it even if it's just for a small group of people who are interested. So far I have found a lot of good information on my topic and it is going well.

  1. I believe it is mainly our fault. Consumers are the ones who decide what goes on the shelves and what doesn't. We do this by purchasing these foods. The only way we can fix this is by buying the healthier products. yea, this will take a while to have an effect on our current food system but it will do the trick. This is a good topic, good luck!
