The research
paper on politics of food has to be one of the longest papers I have written.
The process was not the easiest and it took a lot of time and dedication. It
was important to find the right type of information from credible sources and
have it integrated properly in the paper. Even though doing a research paper
isn't one of the most enjoying things to do, I still gained a lot of insight
and information on the politics of food. Through the research paper I learned a
lot about the organic food industry and it has somewhat changed my mindset
about our country. Before just like most people, I thought organic products
were being offered more by companies to provide us with better, healthier
options. I use to assume, "Well it says organic, it must be better than
the one that doesn't." However, I've learned that that is not the case
most of the time. The government and companies only use the organic label as a
marketing tool and a way to persuade more consumers to buy their products. The
foods that are labeled organic are not always the best choice, even though
their high prices make them seem superior. When it comes to organic, people
think it is better for the environment, better, for animals, and more nutritious
than regular foods, but through my research I’ve found out that organic is not
always the best choice.
Same here. The process was excruciating and long. I would have imagined this unit was going to go by fast but in return we only got more work. The great part about this unit was know and learning thing we didn't know yesterday. I mean you're right, it is better that we learned now rather than having it learned later in the future where were almost about to die, then regret the things we ate and the knowledge we didn't learn before.
ReplyDeleteBefore looking into it, i thought that organic food was automatically healthier and better, It came as a huge surprise to discover that often times companies use the same methods with their animals and except for minor things, organic and commercial almost mean the same thing.
