My mindset for our country has slightly changed with the new knowledge that, even with our food, the rich and powerful make all of the decisions. It's surprising how our foods are basically regulated in a way that it is promoting profit instead of promoting nutrition. It's a very negative characteristic of our food industry and our government because they are supposed to protect and promote the well-being of the people. Instead there are some corrupt people who would rather make large amounts of profit rather than upholding the moral code that they have established. Aside from making profit from the food a that we eat, there are cheaper and quicker alternatives that are being used in order to quickly put foods on the market. Since it is being put out faster the natural and nutritious aspects that foods should have are being skipped over and not reviewed. Currently, I don't eat that many processed foods because it is not provided to me by my family. However when I am out with friends or other family members it can be seen all around me. Especially during grocery shopping do I see shelves upon shelves full of bagged food or canned food which is in some way processed. Due to all of this my opinion about some politicians wanting to supposedly uphold the well being of the people has declined. Also, this information would be capable of putting fear into many people's minds as long as they actually listen and take many examples into account instead of demonstrating blatant ignorance.

  1. I agree that it is disturbing that producers only care about the money they gain from their products, and not the health of the consumers. The main priority should be the people, not the money. There really should be a lot more healthy options around us so we can focus on being healthier and taking better care of ourselves.
