In my research paper, I will be investigating the affect low incomes have on a family's diet. I will also be discussing how the government plays a role in how low income families make their diet choices.
When we were watching the segment on the working class family in the film "Food Inc.", it became clear to me to base my paper on this subject because I can sympathize with families with this background. I found it really interesting that the way the government funds fast food advertisements to cater and intrigue not only families of working class families but the average american adult. I also wanted to focus on the diets of families with higher incomes and how they compare, but I'm having a hard time expanding on it. I want to make it apparent to the reader the difficulties these families are facing as far as their diet choices. Low income families are really being shoved in a corner , the amount of money they make doesn't allow them to make healthier choices because fresh produce is too expensive, so it is up to food industries too look at their prices and consider the health of families of all incomes.
