During this long unit, my mindset has changed a lot about what I eat especially processed foods. Now I am always thinking how there are so many artificial ingredients in processed foods, many people can literally become addicted to processed foods, It is low in nutrients and fiber, and processed foods are “Hyper Rewarding” and lead to overconsumption. From now on I’m probably going to decrease my intake of processed foods to a minimum. There are so much other healthy foods I can be eating to become even healthier. Then again I might not because I love food. So it might be hard to just stop out of nowhere. My mindset about our country has never changed it has been always unfair. If I could go back four years with this knowledge of the food industry, I will probably not change a lot because I’m a healthy kid and always eating my broccoli (kodak black reference...kind of) so I am fine. I will most likely have started a little fruit and vegetable garden in my backyard full of tomatoes, strawberries, avocados, lettuce, and much more so I can at least know I have fresh food to have at any point. If I was really trying to change or influence the food industry, I will probably make a short documentary and put on twitter because if you want something fast to happen put it on twitter and watch the likes and retweets and then more people will become more aware.
I feel you to the max on being changed on my interest in artificial foods. It truly is sad to see how addicting the unhealthy food is in America, but like you said, it is just the way things are because of how unfair life in America already is. I myself am already thinking of planting things like edamame and orange plants in my yard as well. P.S. - I like your kodak reference, and twitter is definitely the way to go when trying to make something known fast.
ReplyDeleteIt will be hard changing the way you eat, because you feel as if you need a salad but then you want a burger. So the picking and choosing of the foods especially processed foods are hard to really think about eating. Uche, it's never too late to start a garden, I mean hey! I have a garden and with having a garden you have a fresh taste of real food. Not processed food, I recommend on getting a garden started.
